Campaign for Change: Resources

For my final project in COML 505 - Digital Storytelling, I created an Instagram account and three posts featuring an idea for a social change campaign: Buy Better & Consume Consciously (B2C2). The @buybetter_consumeconsciously account and associated campaign aims to promote sustainable and socially responsible buying practices by challenging the audience to put their money where their ethics are. Each post features a different topic, outlines some of its related environmental and social issues, and offers tips for ethical consumerism. Philosophically, the campaign acknowledges that we are consumers within a capitalist economic system and encourages a subtle brand of activism through conscious consumption. Rather than inspiring change related to one single social issue, B2C2 was conceptualized as a news and media brand that aims to educate followers about issues related to aspects of their daily lives and ways they can help mitigate those issues through better buying and conscious consumption.
